Why having skin in the game makes watching sports so much better

This past Wednesday night, I found myself staying up late to watch the Cal Baptist vs Southern Illinois basketball game. Why? For one, I'm a big fan of Cal Baptist coach Rick Croy. I covered the dude while he was at Citrus College and was always more than generous with his time. But more importantly, I had stakes in the game.

I had three bets on the game, won two of them, and found myself 100% invested in a regular season WAC game in November for the first time in history.

It’s because of betting.

I don’t think you have to have skin in the game to enjoy sports, but it makes it a whole lot funner.

But with that said, please do so responsibly. Know your financial limits and hold yourself accounable. If you have a gambling problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
