The Dodgers once again re-sign Andrew Toles, who hasn't played since 2018, so he can have health insurance and obtain care for his mental health struggles
The Dodgers prove once again why they are the class of MLB.

The Dodgers prove once again that they are the class of MLB by once tendering the contract of former outfielder Andrew Toles, who hasn’t played an MLB game since 2018 and has been on the restricted list since March 2019.
It’s a story that flies under the radar every year because the team doesn’t do it for publicity. They do it because they want to stick by Toles and make sure he is getting the care he needs.
Toles, once a promising young star, who in 2016 went from Single-A ball to being the starting Left Fielder for the Dodgers, has struggled with mental health issues and they have essentially ended his MLB career. According to this Fox LA article, Toles has been in and out of at least 20 mental health facilities since 2019.

He failed to report to Spring Training on time in 2019, ultimately leaving the team. The year prior, unbeknownst to anyone, he'd been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, and opted to spend time with his family rather than try to rehabilitate his injuries and find his stroke.

The Dodgers understand that the chances of Toles ever playing again are slim to none, but that’s not there intent. In a time where MLB owners are on their B.S. about being in dire straits, and needing to make cuts everywhere possible, the Dodgers are doing the right thing simply because it’s the right thing to do.

I truly hope Andrew Toles gets all the help he needs, and am proud that my Dodgers have continued to stand by him through his struggles.
