My experience at Extreme Dwarfanators Wrestling
It's definitely a novelty act, but that shit was a lot of fun.
I’ve been a life-long wrestling fan, but haven’t been to many live shows. I spent most of my days growing up and into adulthood going to baseball games. If you want to find out how big of a baseball fan I am, just wait until the season gets up and going.
Anyways, I haven’t been to many wrestling shows, but I’ve always had a blast going to them. So when my cousin invited myself, my sister, and brother-in-law to a local indy show, I was pumped.
As a fan of Lucha Libre, pro wrestling in Latin America, I’m familiar with midget wrestling. I only say midget wrestling because that’s what their website called it. And that’s what they were were calling it at the Route 66 Roadhouse & Tavern, where the show was held.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that this was a freaking blast.
If you keep in mind what it is, this was a fun wrestling show. These guys put on one heck of an event.
One of my favorites who stood out was El Gallito, who works for the CMLL promotion in Mexico. Seeing his work convinced me to give CMLL a shot and seek out some of the promotions archives.
It was also cool to see Mini Abismo Negro, who has done work with AAA Lucha Libre and MLW. I’ve seen the guy work before, and he’s really good.
My takeaway from the show is that I want to go again. Mini/Dwarf/Midget wrestling is a blast. I’ll definitely be attending the next time they return to the San Gabriel Valley.
