Do you remember the Jonathan Martin/Richie Incognito NFL bullygate scandal from 2013? Yeah, it was all B.S.
Martin lied about being bullied because it was easier than telling the truth.
We all lie. It’s human nature to lie. No one has to teach us to lie. People lie because telling the truth is hard sometimes. It’s easier to just lie. It’s not something people talk about often, but it’s a fact.
We should all aim to tell the truth. I don’t think that’s much of a profound statement.
And while most people do lie, they usually don’t slander a man’s name and reputation for 12-years like Jonathan Martin did to Richie Incognito.
In an absolute dirtbag move, Jonathan Martin, who couldn’t cut it in the NFL, accused his former teammate Incognito of bullying while knowing full well it was a lie.
A year later, that fraud NFL investigator Ted Wells released a 144-page report painting Martin as a victim. Ted Wells is known for ensuring these investigations go the way the NFL wants them to.
The legacy media, as with most things, failed to cover this story with any kind of true investigative journalism. The legacy media has a narrative with every story they cover, be it sports, politics, or anything else, and they will fight to keep that narrative. They are no long, and might have never been, in the truth business.
In case you’ve seen story unfold from the beginning, and feel that perhaps Martin simply embellished the story, and Incognito still did stuff wrong, I point you to the story above. Martin had an Instagram post in which he made criminal threats online by posting an image of a shotgun threatening Incognito, other former NFL teammates, high school teammates, and Harvard-Westlake, where he went to high school. It resulted resulted in Martin being charged with four felony counts of criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of possessing a loaded firearm.
The dude clearly has deep issues, and hopefully he gets the help he needs. Even so, he is a piece of trash.
